The ViennaUP 2024, a city-wide startup festival held from June 3 to June 9, brought together a vibrant mix of entrepreneurs, investors, and tech enthusiasts from around the globe. Startup World Cup
The Startup World Cup 2024 has been a significant event in the startup ecosystem with 600+ registrations. This year's winner who will represent Austria at the grand finale in San Francisco with a $1 million investment prize, is Cellectric Bioscience, an innovative startup developing electrodynamic cell manipulation to interact and manipulate the electrophysical fingerprint of cells.
Connect Day
The numbers from this year's Connect Day once again underscore the significance of this key matchmaking event. With more than 250 investors, over 1,300 participants, and approximately 1,500 resulting matchmaking sessions, the interest has increased compared to last year. The Global Incubator Network (GIN) provided exciting insights into internationalization opportunities through pitching sessions for international startups.
Tech Jobs Fair
Tech Jobs Fair, the biggest Tech Recruiting Event at the ViennaUP with 1500+ registrations promised an engaging experience. The event boasted top-tier companies, captivating keynote speakers, and an energetic ambience conducive to meaningful discussions and fruitful networking. Countless individuals are actively contributing to the success of TJF Vienna in various capacities.
Think Ethical AI: With responsible media & marketing to sustainable success
In their keynotes, Verena Krawarik from the APA - Austria Press Agency and Florian Bauer from Engage Technology – Agency for Digital, Tech & AI and barnVentures Gmbh gave some truly exciting insights into the topic AI in media and how to be an ethical AI expert. Together with Jeannette Gorzala, Manuel Mofidian, Firas Saedaddin and Kambis Kohansal Vajargah, they discussed a whole range of fascinating topics, including data protection, the impact of AI on the dissemination of information, as well as strategies and solutions for the responsible use of AI in the media industry.
Impact Days
Through a dynamic lineup of speakers, workshops, and interactive sessions the Impact Days 2024 provided a platform for participants to explore innovative solutions, share best practices, and co-create strategies for positive change - from impact investing to sustainable entrepreneurship, from climate action to social justice.
At the event also The Media Forward Fund was presented, aiming to initiate private investments in new journalistic organizations in order to trigger a wave of journalism startups in quality journalism.
